NAVIMOR est.1971

2000: privatisation

It was on the 1st of June 2000 when the Privatisation Agency, as the plenipotentiary of the State Treasury sold 1.122 shares (55,3% of registered capital) to the private company NAVESA.
The development strategy of NAVIMOR focuses on trading and agency in export of ships, tugs, inland navigation craft, ship equipment, boats and yachts. The project management of ship construction and project finance would be continued. The off-shore market would be also of interest to the Company.

1990: transformation of operations

NAVIMOR was a beneficiary of state monopoly in exports and imports until the end of 1988. The reorganisation started in 1990 with the opening of several specialised trading offices - agents and brokers for the shipyards and the ship owners. The ship repair yards that formerly were for years separated from the contacts with the customers - foreign ship owners - were supported in development of their own marketing and sales departments. NAVIMOR co-operated in establishing the trading relations and provided the experienced staff.
The appearance of well known NAVIMOR trade mark in several new private companies was a good handicap and advantage in approaching new clients.

NAVIMOR kept on developing the co-operation with the banks in servicing the ship building finance. The transfer of the title to the vessels under construction as the collateral to secure the bank interests, special purpose companies organised and managed for individual ship construction projects, credit inspection and monitoring by the combined technical & financial supervision performed at the shipyard on order of the banks - all were introduced into the banking sector practice.

1984: commercialisation

In 1984 the State Treasury brought in the assets of the state enterprise to new company organised under the commercial code (the law existing since 1934, yet very seldom practised before 1986). The State Treasury held 51% of shares. The remaining shares were distributed among the state enterprises, mainly ship repairing yards, river and yacht yards, marine design centres.

1971: state owned enterprise

The state owned Foreign Trade Enterprise NAVIMOR was opened on 1st of January, 1971 in the result of transformation of former Division of Export and Import of Ship Repairs, Inland Navigation Craft and Yachts of another state enterprise.
